I grew up with three older brothers – yes, I was the Only Girl AND The Baby in the family! – and a long list of male cousins. Living in the country and close to family was such a gift – one I didn’t appreciate until those days were long gone.
There were endless afternoons of Barbie adventures, playing dress-up and paper dolls with my three favorite girl cousins and countless summer days of bike riding, fort building and swimming with all my boys. So many summertime memories that fluctuated from gold glitter to go-carts and babydolls to dirt bikes. By the time I was 16, I was the only girl I knew who could style her hair like Farrah Fawcett AND be the neighborhood quarterback with a perfect spiral . . . those were the days!! I have always been both tomboy and girlie girl – which explains why I apply my make-up as I watch ESPN College Game Day during football season!!
The point is you have to be true to who you are! You’re An ORIGINAL And That, My Friend, Is A GOOD Thing!

I am always on the look-out for a great Little Black Dress. And, yes, they are available at every turn but the reasons I chose this one are simple. First, I love the weight of the fabric – a knit jersey with enough support to hold its shape and enough give to be extremely comfortable. Secondly, it has sleeves!! I realize I say this often but sleeves are SO important to me!! Summer, Winter, Whatever – I always prefer a dress with a little sleeve! And of course, last but not least, the fabulous design. I, like most of you, don’t want to “see myself” coming and going so I love that the design is more than basic but not overly done. Just SO CHIC!
