IT WAS 1978, I was 12 years old.  I wasn’t your “sit at the back of the class” kind of gal but front row was certainly not my preference.

You could usually find me mid-way back – blending in nicely with the other 20+ pre-teens in the classroom.  Except lately I’d noticed my tendency was to sit a bit closer – I could see the blackboard a little clearer if I sat three rows closer . . .  and if I squinted just a little it was perfection.  It wasn’t something I expected but I finally gave in to the fact that it wasn’t my teacher’s penmanship or my lack of attention – it was my eyesight and time to make a trip to the optometrist  . . . Oh.  Joy.

As he adjusted all the bells and whistles, I quickly realized I was just a little more than nearsighted and I would be the proud new owner of a hot pair of lovely glasses!    Absolutely the last thing a 12 year old girl needs . . .  but the facts held fast and I chose the best pair of frames I could find as my new classroom sidekick.  My only consolation was that they were only needed for “classroom or book work” – at least socially there was no real damage– at least for a couple more years.

A few years passed and I knew that this visit to the doctor was going to be THE ONE.   I found myself squinting more and more and even then clarity was not an option.  It was time to become 4-Eyes Full Time and I dreaded the very thought of it.  So much so that I pleaded with my parents until they agreed that I was old enough to try out contacts versus glasses!  Hallelujah!  You can’t imagine the relief this gal felt!  So thankful I didn’t have to wear glasses and I could be totally “normal”.

Well that has been more years ago than I care to admit and my how things have changed!!

Thankfully glasses are now considered a fashion accessory!!

And at 51, I am still completely dependent on those contacts – wearing them 24/7 – work, play, sleep or swim – they are certainly a life changer.  And speaking of life changes – hitting mid-life certainly brings on some changes I wasn’t expecting.  Nowadays not only do I depend on those contacts – I also find myself in need of reading glasses for any up-close activities such as computer work, reading, crafting or my constant Instagram addiction!!

And Thankfully  Readers.com   Has THE BEST SELECTION Of Frames Around!!

All The Latest Designs – Everything From Classic Aviators To The Latest Bold Trends!

Readers.com has whatever you’re looking for  . . and I love that their sunglass readers help me enjoy work or play outdoors without exposure to the sun’s damaging rays!!  I have such sensitive eyes – seriously, the tears just flow at the mere mention of sunshine – which is a huge problem for a girl who loves the coast!  Toes in the sand and a good read and I’m all smiles but who wants to suffer through trying to enjoy the outdoors with blurred vision and irritated eyes?!!

That’s why I was so pleased to find that Readers.com offers an amazing selection of frames for their SUNGLASS READERS as well.  All my favorite looks but with the convenience of the ability to see clearly!!

I can comfortably enjoy these Carolina Blue Skies even on the sunniest days using my sunglass readers from Readers.com !!

And since I began using my readers from Readers.com, I’ve made another little discovery . . . All Reading Glasses Are NOT Created Equal!!
