Hey Y’all! Happy Friday and Welcome to the third edition of our Fall Fashion Guide series!!
This week sweet Suzanne from CrazyBlondeLife and I are talking about our love for PLAID!! Y’all, I love a pretty plaid and Fall plaids are yet another reason to LOVE the PSL Season!!
Plaids come in all sorts of colors and styles and I love them all! Here’s a little quiz to test your Plaid perception!!
Identify These Plaids:
1. Glen 2. Tartan 3. Madras 4. Buffalo 5. Blackwatch 6. Windowpane 7. Tattersall 8. Houndstooth 9. Gingham How’d You Do???!
Unfortunately for you, this is a bit of a trick. Since plaids originated in Scotland, Tartan is actually the original, all-encompassing synonym for the word Plaid. So everything here in the US we call plaid, the Scots call Tartan, and vise versa. All of the other eight forms of plaid mentioned are versions of Tartans, each designed for different families, characters or occasions!!
In my mind, plaid screams classic – no matter the type or color!
Plaids are timeless and, therefore, perfect investment pieces. Grab a favorite plaid from your closet, add a trending jacket, blouse or pant to create the perfect look in an instant!!
Although classic, some plaids can add a bit of whimsy to your outfit! These pants I’m wearing from CoCo Couture Boutique – located right outside of Charlotte – (find them HERE) -are ADORABLE and such FUN! A timeless Glen Plaid print with a fun velvet polka dot – How CUTE!!!
I’ve paired them with a FABULOUS poncho (also from CoCo Couture) that has a bit of whimsy all it’s own! I just love the fur pompoms and the tiny bit of sparkle from the cami peeking through!! Yep~ This look is on my list of Fall FAVORITES for sure!! Wouldn’t this be perfect for the Holidays?? I think so too! Are You Tired? 2020 has been exhausting for most of us. Add bouncing back from chemo and WOWZERS – I’m REALLLLY Tired. Physically, mentally and emotionally. Being in a battle is hard work – cancer had me fighting for my life…. but anything you’re constantly pushing against can be an exhausting fight… and that can push you down and wear you out!
I’ve found that the key to any fight is to remember that God is with you. He promises to be all the strength you need. Just keep your eyes on the prize and glean what you can in the midst of the storm. And don’t miss it…there’s always something good- ALWAYS.
