Y’all I’m so excited to have my handsome son, Landon, join me on my post today!

Landon is one of the strongest men I know, emotionally he’s been my rock and this one has a heart of gold!

At age 16, Landon developed cholesteatoma (a skin growth in the inner ear) and since has had three ear surgeries and suffered substantial hearing loss. He has nearly perfect hearing with the assistance of hearing aids and for that I am so grateful.

#CochlearPartner   Because of my son’s experience, I have always been passionate about hearing loss.  So when Cochlear approached me about sharing some important information about Cochlear implants as a solution for those with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss who my not be receiving enough benefit from hearing aids, I was immediately on board!

For aging adults, the first step is hearing aids, but when there is not enough benefit, it’s time to look into other options. According to the National Institutes of Health, one in every three people 65 and over has hearing loss. And on average, research shows people with hearing loss wait TEN YEARS before they begin any type of treatment! That’s TEN YEARS of hearing only pieces of conversations, nodding your head – hoping you heard the question correctly, and missing out on being fully present all due to hearing loss!

Cochlear is the global leader in implantable hearing solutions, offering FDA approved, surgically implanted medical devices designed to mimic natural hearing. Cochlear implants are a wonderful solution for anyone dealing with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss and especially those unable to receive significant benefit from hearing aids.
