Last Sunday Evening Was One I Will NEVER Forget!!!
My favorite ladies were there and my Instagram family came out in force to watch a major transformation as I celebrated snipping my long blonde locks at my NO Hair DON’T Care party!!
I’m a southern girl and have always loved BIG Hair! I was only truly in my element in the 80s but have always walked to the beat of my own drum, so I wear what I want and as for my hair, don’t tell me when too much is too much!! And besides, the bigger the hair, the closer to God….. right?!!
But since my breast cancer diagnosis, losing my hair is insignificant in comparison to gaining my life, so I decided to embrace a newfound philosophy and CELEBRATE LIFE With NO HAIR!!
I received hundreds of messages. Many cheering me on and many telling me I was just so brave. Truth is, there wasn’t an ounce of bravery around that day – the real truth is there are no options and I love all of my friends too much to sit alone in a corner!
Brave . . . No – And I Am Afraid – But Not Of Dying.
I’M AFRAID OF NOT LIVING Any Life I’ve Been Given To The Very Fullest – of taking every last ounce of good out of every single day. Hair Or No Hair. Cancer Or No Cancer. Every day is a gift and WE Get To Decide How We Open It!
I’m going with ripping the paper off- ribbons and all- and seeing what it could possibly hold . . . deciding that the worst day is better when shared with those you love as you sprinkle the moments with a little laughter and tears.
And the gift you brought to theparty is one that keeps on giving as I walk taller daily knowing there is an Army in prayer behind me – some sharing the same battle scars and others not knowing the Fight but somehow loving just as hard on to Victory.
I am so blessed – even honored – to have each of you care and pray so fervently on my behalf. Words could never express what you’ve meant to me these past months.
So thank you all sweet friends for making my NO Hair DON’T Care party a part of my life’s highlight reel.
It was one of the best nights of my life. I adore you more than you could possibly know!
Now go rip the paper off and have an amazing Sunday! I love y’all bunches!!
Barbi xoxo
Some of my Besties were out of town or sick and couldn’t make it to the party and I wanted to say Monica, Debbie and Noemi – You were missed and I love you ladies!!

What type is your cancer? My mom was T 3 which thankfully was so small that drs were surprised they actually caught it so early, as it is also fast growing. She had a lumpectomy with radiation and is now cancer free!
